Sandhya Daemgen
Sandhya Daemgen is a singer, dancer, musician, teacher and artist working in interdisciplinary projects with voice, sound and body.
As a performer, she sings, dances and improvises in durational performative-exhibition settings. She has worked internationally for and with Tino Sehgal, Alexandra Pirici, Ari Benjamin Meyers and Heiner Goebbels at: Palais de Tokyo Paris, UCCA Beijing, Art Basel LISTE, The Shed New York, Manchester International Festival, Berlin Biennale, dOCUMENTA 13, Martin Gropius Bau Berlin, Stediljk Museum Amsterdam, VAC Fondation Moskau, Park Avenue Armory New York, Spring Gallery Hong Kong, Fondation Beyeler Basel, Art Museum Kiasma Helsinki, Kunsthalle Zürich, OGR Torino, Impulstanz Vienna,
She is a member of the queer-feminist collective Altes Finanzamt in Neukölln, Berlin. From 2016-2018 she was selected as an emerging artist from Performing Arts Program Berlin (PAP).
She has a degree in Cultural Studies from Wesleyan University, USA and in Dance, Context and Choreography from the University of Art, Berlin.
She is currently in an analogue synth duo with Martin Hansen called S&M.
She is the host and director of the What’s That Noise? Project since 2015. The Project has received funding from Musikfonds, Berlin 2019 and Gwärtlerstiftung 2020
